Appellate work is an integral part of any litigation practice. Dufford & Brown’s attorneys have extensive experience in the appellate process. Our attorneys have participated in appeals at the United States Supreme Court and in a number of federal and state appellate courts. Our appellate work encompasses a broad spectrum of constitutional, statutory, bankruptcy, oil and gas, regulatory, commercial, administrative, and common law issues both on behalf of the litigants in the case and on behalf of amicus curiae who wish to advocate particular legal issues or policy positions. We assist our clients during each step of the appellate process, from evaluating the advisability of appealing a judgment or filing post-judgment motions, to seeking interlocutory relief from appellate courts when necessary, to briefing all or any portion of an appeal, and participating in oral argument. We also continually monitor appellate court developments to be able to provide our clients with the most up-to-date advice regarding the potential effect of recent court rulings on their businesses or activities.
